Our staff invest significant personal and professional time in ensuring that they have the necessary knowledge base to assist clients of all levels with their needs.  A typical eks Solutions accountant will have undertaken the following training:

  • A three year university degree
  • A three year Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification
  • 120 hours of structured training in every three year period in order to maintain professional membership with CPA Australia
  • Attendance at our weekly in house training sessions
  • Attendance to professionally structured seminars throughout the year.

Directors

Managing Director - Mark Smith

Mark.jpgMark has been in public practice since 1985 and has advised a variety of clients, particularly in mining, primary production, property development, retailing and medical services. He also advises on business succession. 

Mark is currently a director and company secretary of a publicly-listed mining company and advises clients on corporate matters and listing requirements for the Australian Stock Exchange.

He is a Fellow of the Certified Practising Accountants of Australian (FCPA) and the Taxation Institute of Australia (FTIA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).  He has served boards with a number of not-for-profit organizations.

Mark became a partner of eks Solutions in 1985.

Mark has also actively served on various committees in the Asia-Pacific Region for the JHI group.  JHI is a global network of highly-regarded independent accountancy, business advisor and financial consultancy firms. The leading association of its kind, JHI exists to enhance the ability of member firms and their clients to drive business locally and internationally through a variety of distinctive programs and services.  eks Solutions has been a member of JHI since 1999. 

Director - Greg Berry

Greg_Berry.jpgGreg has been in public practice since 1986 and has advised a variety of clients, particularly in the construction, manufacturing, service station, property development, primary production and medical industries. 

Greg has extensive knowledge and expertise in assisting with and undertaking property development and syndications.

Greg is a Fellow of the Certified Practising Accountants of Australian (FCPA) and the Taxation Institute of Australia (FTIA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Greg became a director of eks Solutions in 1997.

Director - Chris Grieve

Chris joined eks Solutions as a manager in 2004 and became a director in 2008.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Business from Curtin University, is a qualified CPA and a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia.

Chris previously worked in the banking sector with experience in commercial lending, maintaining a portfolio of some of the banks largest clients before commencing his career in public practice in 1998.

Since joining eks Solutions Chris has worked closely with many of his clients and now manages a diverse range of small and medium business clients in many industry sectors. He specialises in taxation and business advisory matters including capital gains tax, business structuring, business acquisitions and disposals, taxation planning strategies, fringe benefits tax and GST.
